The house is surrounded by flowerbeds crammed with perennials, annuals and shrubs which Pierre Grandin has collected and planted since 1978. Abundant hydrangeas, elegantly arched dieramas flourish among a generous selection of ground covers which encircle the trees and shrubs in the garden…

Look out for some quirky details like the mini garden of slates and stones and succulents decorating a twisted old tree trunk.  At the top of the garden a young, mainly indigenous forest of 6 acres, planted in 1996 thrives. All pest control is exclusively organic.

Visit La Fournellerie

  • Open 19-20 May, 16-17 June, 30 June – 1er July, 14-15 July and 9 September,   Saturdays from 14.00 to 18.30, Sundays from 10.30 to 18.30.
  • Admission: 3 €.

Directions to La Fournellerie

  • Coming from the south of Cherbourg at the end of  the RN13, take the direction ‘Centre Commercial’ at the major roundabout,  at the second roundabout go towards Martinvast.  Follow the road to a cross roads, turn right and go along this road towards Martinvast for about 3.5 km.  Then turn right taking the direction La Fournellerie. Number 22 is 800 m on the right.
