Les Jardins du Manoir de Saussey
Saussey
A maze of colourful gardens surrounding a manor house
Well known for its collection of nativity scenes, glassware and ceramics, which are on show in the museums, the Manoir de Saussey is surrounded by colourful gardens resplendent with agapanthus, roses, dahlias and hydrangeas. These gardens compliment perfectly the splendid architecture of the Norman dwelling dating to the 17th and 18th Centuries. The gardens are inhabited to great effect by many decorative features like statues and forged lanterns. The result is a remarkable composition which Jacques Langelier has been perfecting for more than 52 years. It was in fact he who designed the garden in 1959 and who has maintained this lovely property ever since.
