La Hannière

Vasteville

The comeback of a rich collection dating from 1976

La Hannière, Vasteville

This garden is the work of the botanist, Joël Loriau (1941-1991), a student of the renowned Dr Charles Favier, whose garden is in  neighbouring Cherbourg.  Séverine and Thierry Guillot, learning as they go along, are doing their utmost to preserve this rich heritage and are planting choice rhododendrons and hydrangeas around the majestic eucalyptus trees. A huge collection of rare plants started more than 35 years ago on a 5 acre plot, with many fine examples from Australasia.
